OPERATOR SAFETY TRAINING

Course Objective:
This skid steer training course introduces students to safe work practices involved with skid steer loaders.

 Course Structure:
This comprehensive skid steer training program consists of the following:
  • A combination of theory and hands on safety training
  • Written and practical examination
  • Performance by the participant of the following:
  1. Daily inspection procedure.
  2. Site inspection for hazards.
  3. Demonstration of safe operation of the machine.
  4. Completion of a quiz on all aspects of the operation of the equipment as well as the regulations relating to the safe operation of the equipment.
 Course Duration:
  • 1 Day Experienced Operators (8 hours)
  • 2 Day Novice Operators (16 hours)
OPTION 2

RE-QUALIFICATION
TRAINING

Course Objective:
This skid steer training program is designed to ensure that operator knowledge and practical skills continue to meet current safety standards and regulations. The skid steer training program is ideal for all operators as it is designed to reinforce the importance of proper handling techniques.

Course Structure:
This comprehensive skid steer refresher program consists of the following:
  • Classroom training on the theory of skid loader operation. Includes the use of workbooks and video.
  • Hands on operation and practical evaluation of operator skills.
 Course Duration:
  • 4-5 hours (depending on number of participants)
 Prerequisite:
Must have previously completed training with Leavitt Machinery

IN-HOUSE INSTRUCTOR TRAINING

Course Objective:
This skid steer training course is designed to meet the needs of Skid Steer operators, regardless of brand. This comprehensive skid steer operator training program gives the student the skills to run an effective course by:
  • Introducing them to the principles of safe operation of a Skid Steer
  • Training them to present the material in a classroom situation
  • Instructing the student how to evaluate another operator’s driving skills
  • Teaching the student how to set-up an appropriate test area for students
  • Introducing the student to the regulatory bodies governing skid steer operators
  • Explaining proper record keeping
 Course Structure:
The skid steer training program focuses on the following areas:
