OPTION 1
OPERATOR SAFETY TRAINING
Course Objective:
This scissor lift training and aerial lift training program is designed to ensure that operator knowledge and practical skills meet current national and provincial safety standards and regulations. The course is ideal for all operators as it is designed to reinforce the importance of proper safety and handling techniques. The program addresses the following issues:
- Hazards, precautions, operating and emergency controls, safety devices, and safe operation
- Pre-start visual inspections.
- Inspection of the work place.
Course Structure:
This comprehensive program consists of the following:
- Classroom training on the theory & operation of the machine. Includes the use of workbooks and video.
- Hands on operation of the particular Elevated Work Platform machine families.
- Instruction in the use of the various safety devices associated with the machine.
- Evaluation is bases on participants ability to demonstrate the following:
- Daily inspection procedure.
- Site inspection for hazards.
- Demonstration of safe operation of the machine.
- Completion of a quiz on all aspects of the operation of the equipment as well as the regulations relating to the safe operation of the equipment.
Course Training Types:
- Aerial Booms – Straight or Articulated, over & under 80ft courses available
- Aerial Platform – Scissor Lift Training
Course Duration:
- 1 Day Experienced Operators (8 hours)
- 2 Day Novice Operators (16 hours)

OPTION 2
RE-QUALIFICATION
TRAINING
Course Objective:
This aerial lift and scissor lift safety training program is designed to ensure that operator knowledge and practical skills continue to meet current safety standards and regulations. The program is ideal for all operators as it is designed to reinforce the importance of proper handling techniques.
Course Structure:
This comprehensive refresher program consists of the following:
- Classroom training on the theory of aerial platform operation. Includes the use of workbooks and video.
- Hands on operation and practical evaluation of operator skills.
Course Training Types:
- Aerial Booms – Straight or Articulated, over & under 80ft courses available
- Aerial Platform – Scissor Lift Training
Course Duration:
- 4-5 hours (depending on number of participants)

Must have previously completed training with Leavitt Machinery

OPTION 3
IN-HOUSE INSTRUCTOR TRAINING
Course Objective:
This boom lift training and scissor lift training program is designed to meet the needs of the Aerial Platform Operators, regardless of brand. This comprehensive program gives the student the skills to run an effective program by introducing them to the principles of safe operation of a Aerial Platform Lift.
- Training to present the material in a classroom situation
- Instructing the individual how to evaluate another operator’s skills
- Set up of an appropriate test area for students
- Introducing the student to the regulatory bodies governing operators
- Explaining proper record keeping
Once the aerial platform safety training program has been complete, the instructor will be able to train your employees in the following areas:
- Theory & operation of the machine families. (including written evaluations)
- Hands on operation of Elevated Work Platform machine families.
- Instruction in the use of the various safety devices associated with the machine.
- Performance by the participant of the following:
- Daily inspection procedure
- Maintaining a log book
- Use of the emergency lowering devices
- Site inspection for hazards
- Demonstration of safe operation of the machine
